Couples Therapy
Building Connection and Hope
The Quality of Our Relationships Shapes Our Happiness
Our happiness or unhappiness strongly depends on the quality of our relationships. And healthy romantic relationships need attention even when things are good. As a Certified Imago Relationship Therapist and years of working with couples, I understand the dilemmas and struggles couples experience.
It can be very painful when our most important relationship struggles. Most arguments are about deeper issues such as feeling unloved, unappreciated or misunderstood. Through effective communication, we will get to the root of the issues quickly.
How Couples Therapy Can Help
If you’re experiencing frequent conflict, a recent affair, a lack of intimacy, or other relationship challenges, Imago as well as other types of couples therapy can help. Through effective communication, we’ll quickly get to the root of the issues.
If you are experiencing frequent conflict, a recent affair, a lack of intimacy, or anything else that troubles you, Imago Couples Therapy can help. I believe deeply in conscious connection to ourselves and others. Our answers are within us but sometimes difficult to reveal. If we can adopt enough humility to transcend judgment and criticism, we can bridge our differences and move forward.
Utilizing the Imago Dialogue as the primary communication method, we will practice listening, validating and empathizing to work towards a conscious connection. And as we say in Imago, connected couples can more easily solve problems and conflicts. As you experience being deeply heard, hope builds and our sense of aliveness returns. The key to long lasting is building understanding, appreciation and learning to play.
Truthfully, many couples come to me unsure if their relationship can survive. In these situations, I encourage Discernment Counseling which helps us first to become aware of what is happening in the relationship to find a way forward. Sometimes we do say goodbye and when we do we can do this with grace and with an intention for a good future.
I also provide premarital counseling for couples that want to take a deeper look at their relationship prior to marriage.
